Overview

Welcome to the nomination form for the Chamberlain Awards!

Birmingham City Council's Recognition Scheme is named after Joseph Chamberlain, one of Birmingham's most distinguished civic leaders and is designed to recognise the extraordinary work or services provided by Birmingham City Council employees.

Colleague Nominations:

Are you aware of a person or team that has introduced new ways of working or supported change, saved money, time or other resources or ovecome adversity and found solutions to problems? Is there anyone in your team who has improved morale and motivation, shown professional bravery and challenged the status quo?  Do your colleagues put in extraordinary effort, exceeding expectations? Are you part of a team/project that has delivered pioneering work that leads the way nationally, putting Birmingham on the map?

Public Nominations:

Nominations for the LOCAL HERO category are put forward specifically by members of the public, who do not work for the council themselves but have an inspiring story to tell about a member of staff who has provided them with an excellent service, significantly improving the life or circumstances of the nominator.

The nominated member of staff could work in any department of the council.  They may be a helpful telephone adviser, a friendly librarian, a conscientious park keeper, a favourite carer or a hospitable housing officer.  The nominee may have saved the day by helping you out of a difficult situation, given a consistently high standard of service over a long period of time or just put a smile on your face and made your day - we would love to hear your stories.

To be eligible to take part in the scheme your nominee must be:

  • a Birmingham City Council, Acivico or Service Birmingham member of staff who receives a Birmingham City Council payslip
  • Nominations for agency workers, consultants or colleagues from partner organisations cannot be considered

Please complete the nomination form so that our exceptional colleagues can see how much we appreciate their work!

Good luck and thank you for taking part in the Chamberlain Awards.
