Overview
Planning continues to be at the forefront of Birmingham's transformation into a modern, vibrant international city, which today boasts many award-winning developments. Our role is to encourage and guide development that will help make Birmingham one of the world's top cities - a place where people increasingly want to live, work and visit and where businesses choose to invest.
Since the adoption of the Selly Oak Local Action Plan in 2001 circumstances have changed and new opportunities have prompted a review and update; this Draft SPD is the result of that review. Building upon the guidance provided by the Local Action Plan, this SPD is intended to primarily set out a strategy for realising the economic potential of the area.
At this consultation stage you have the opportunity to comment on the draft Selly Oak SPD and Sustainability Appraisal.
The draft SPD and relevant documents are available at 1 Lancaster Circus, Selly Oak Library and online at: www.birmingham.gov.uk/sellyoakspd
We will be holding meetings and drop in sessions during the consultation period. These will give you the opportunity to ask any questions and discuss the proposals with officers.
