This consultation is about how Healthwatch should be set up in Birmingham to work for you and your community.  From June to September 2012, we will be finding out how individuals, groups and communities across the city want to shape Healthwatch so it works for them.

The main reasons cited for people to get involved were: meeting people; influencing decision making; and helping other people. 

 

Healthwatch Birmingham needs to challenge poor service delivery
It should not be a requirement to be a member in order to take part
Healthwatch Birmingham needs to have an obvious online presence
There should not be a reliance on formal meetings
Healthwatch Birmingham should use questionnaires to develop an evidence base for its work
Healthwatch Birmingham needs to make effective use of GP Surgeries to communicate with people. 
Healthwatch Birmingham must develop effective links with existing organisations

This consultation is about how Healthwatch should be set up in Birmingham to work for you and your community.  From June to September 2012, we will be finding out how individuals, groups and communities across the city want to shape Healthwatch so it works for them.
 
Consultation Ambassadors have been recruited to reach into their local groups and communities to encourage people to share their views.  Children and young people will be consulted separately.

What happens next

The findings of the consultation will be incorporates into the development of Healthwatch Birmingham.
