We asked

What your experiences were of Neighbourhood Tasking Meetings in your local area and how what would suit your local area/ward/neighbourhood.

You said

To give local people the choice about what suits their area in terms of meetings. Key issues were and to increase engagement and participation of local people.

We did

A report of the findings was presented to City Council in July 2014. All of the recommendations were agreed for implementation by the Council.

Overview

The Community Safety Tasking process is intended to provide a structure and process for neighbourhood policing teams and local partners in engaging the community in understanding and addressing local community safety and other associated local issues, and for feeding the outcome of actions taken back to the community.

Why your views matter

Birmingham City Council's Social Cohesion and Community Safety Overview and Scrutiny Committee is undertaking a short Inquiry looking at how Neigbhourood Tasking operates across the city. Arrangements differ across the city based on local need and the Committee is interested in your views and would like you to fill in this short survey.

What happens next

A report of the findings from the Committee's meeting and survey will be incorporated into a report presented by the Chair to a full City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday 1st July 2014.
