Get involved in improving health and wellbeing in Birmingham
Overview
Support us to develop the City’s approach to improving health and wellbeing of citizens, focussing on inequalities.
Across the city, want to improve the lives of citizens, reduce inequality, and bring our communities together to enjoy all of the benefits that Birmingham has to offer.
To help achieve this, Birmingham is working with the Institute of Health Equity to identify actions we need to take to deliver this vision. This programme of work will develop over the next two years, working with partners from across health, local government, the voluntary, community and faith sector, business, community organisations and local citizens.
We would like to:
- Explore what we need to do in Birmingham to reduce health inequalities and become an accredited World Health Organization (WHO) Healthy City.
- Develop a shared understanding and language for health equity.
- Identify how we work together across systems, places and communities.
- Help shape and Birmingham’s approach to Health Equity and Inclusion.
We would like to establish a citizen advisory group to help shape the programme and ensure that it is putting citizen’s at the heart of everything we do.
If you are interesting in being part of the advisory group please click the link below informing us why you would like to get involved and which area of the city you live in by 12th June 2026.
We are hoping to make the advisory group representative of the city, so if you do not get asked at this point to be part of the group, we will be back in touch when we have wider subject areas to discuss and will make sure we invite you to those meetings.
