Heath Way Local Safety Scheme
Overview
Birmingham City Council is committed to undertaking local safety schemes to make our roads safer for walking, wheeling and cycling. Schemes are selected using criteria outlined in the Birmingham Road Safety Strategy. We are currently consulting on a targeted safety scheme on Heath Way (between Darley Avenue and the roundabout at Buckland End/Heathland Avenue).
Overview of proposals:
Installation of 8 speed cushions outside of the following properties:
- Properties no. 74 - 76 and opposite, outside properties no. 89 - 91
- Property no. 90
- Property no. 109
- Property no. 170 and opposite, outside property no. 131
- Properties no. 190 - 192 and opposite, outside property no. 15
Installation of road hump warning signs on Heath Way outside of the following properties:
- Properties no. 58 - 60
- Property no. 157
Installation of a new pedestrian refuge island (a raised, protected space in the centre of the road allowing people to cross safely in two stages), with two bollards at both sides of the crossing points at the following location:
- Heath Way, at the roundabout at Buckland End/Heathland Avenue.
