Learning Disabilities Housing Appendix - Professionals Questionnaire
Overview
The Evidence Team at Birmingham City Council Public Health are currently
working on their Learning Disabilities JSNA Deep Dive Housing Needs and Solutions Appendix. This needs assessment forms an appendix to their Learning Disabilities JSNA Deep Dive which was published last year (Learning Disabilities Deep Dive 2024 | Birmingham City Council).
Citizens with learning disabilities endure significant health and wellbeing inequalities throughout their lives, often including significant housing disruption and inequalities, which are linked to poor physical and mental health. The Learning Disabilities JSNA Deep Dive Housing Needs and Solutions Appendix, commissioned by Adult Social Care, will work to address this by developing an evidence base that aims to inform the future commissioning of housing, in addition to care and support services. This will include identifying the level of need in the population, gaps and barriers in service provision, and potential solutions.
All data received by Birmingham City Council, in relation to this research, will be stored in accordance with the data protection guidelines. You can read more about the Privacy Notice here: Privacy Statement.

Why your views matter
Our report will capture voices of lived experience to inform our 'recommendations for action', which will aim to re-shape strategy and services to reduce housing inequalities experienced by citizens with learning disabilities. As part of this, we are seeking the voices and inputs from professionals working in housing and support/care for citizens with learning disabilities through this questionnaire. Your insights will be extremely valuable in shaping this report!
