City Vision

For too long, the Birmingham story has been a Tale of Two Cities: a booming city centre with cranes dotting the skyline, in stark contrast to neighbourhoods with high levels of poverty and unemployment just a stone’s throw away. This inequality must change, our City Vision for 2035, designed with partners, citizens and communities and includes details of our shared ambitions, it draws on our rich history and maps out a bright future.

SBFTC is all about working with Brummies—not just for them. We want to co-create ideas and solutions that reflect what people really need and want. By listening, learning, and collaborating, we aim to help shape a more inclusive, responsive, and connected future for our city—one that truly reflects the City Vision.

Marketplace Roadshow

A room of people, with purple curtains. People standing at stalls and chatting.

The aim of the SBFT Marketplace Roadshow is to share details of what key activities the council and our partners are undertaking which can help local citizens and improve outcomes for all.

We currently have up to 50 venues across the city. These venues are within community settings and are at the heart of delivering on the ground and valued and trusted by local people. It will also provide us an opportunity to engage with citizens face to face who do not have any digital access.

The proposal is to co-ordinate a local marketplace to meet in the 10 Electoral constituencies of Birmingham, to ensure its maximum impact and engagement with local people.

Community Stories

Birmingham is full of incredible people, and we want to celebrate them. Our community stories are dedicated to the stories of ‘Brummies’ to showcase the heart and soul of our city - its people. From your everyday moments to your hopes and aspirations, we are capturing what it truly means to live in Brum. This is also a chance to highlight the amazing work of local volunteers and key individuals who are making a difference in their communities - our unsung heroes.
