For views on a proposal to install a new zebra crossing on Yardley Green Road as part of Cole Valley cycle route.

Why cyclist dismount signs? What will prevent unlawful car parking as this is a big problem locally?
We did
Cyclists will be permitted to use zebra crossings in future (from 2016) so dismount signs are temporary until legal. Design will include higher kerbs or bollards to prevent parking around the crossing.
Overview
Consulting on a proposal to improve access to the Cole Valley Cycle Route by placing a ‘Tiger’ combined pedestrian/cyclist crossing on Yardley Green Road. In the interim, a full width Zebra crossing will be used.
This proposal forms part of the Birmingham Cycle Revolution Local Links programme, ensuring canal towpaths and green routes are linked to the other parts of the cycling network.
