We asked

We asked for your views on the following proposals: - Installation of new Street Lighting - Footway re-surfacing with blue brick pavers and replacement of tactile paving where required. - Construct all vehicular footway crossings with pink setts. - Installation of new pink Granite/Conservation Kerbs.

You said

Although we received no adverse comments to the overall proposal there were some specific issues relating to the scheme. • The new paved footway should be user friendly for wheelchairs and pushchairs. - The construction specifications specify a smooth surface finish and the gradients will be adjusted to minimise disruption to wheelchairs and pushchairs. • Street light needs to be improved. - The existing street lighting has been upgraded and enhanced to the required standards. • Improvement of Crossing Facilities. - Tactile paving facilities are being provided or upgraded at a number of side roads which will provide saver crossing for users. • Cycle Lane required at least in one direction. - The provision of a cycle lane is not included within this scheme but is being considered as part of BCC’s future transport/cycling programme.

We did

We would like to thank everyone who responded. The detailed design has been reviewed and completed. The consultation responses have been considered. The Full Business Case has been signed off and construction is expected to commence in June 2015.
