Background:

The current Moseley Local Action Plan was drawn up in1992 and so it needs to be updated.

In 2010 the local communities were asked a number of questions to help identify its needs and wishes. These have now being taken into account as the draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).

This document will set out planning policies for Moseley to give clear guidance about the future of the 'village', land use and the wider Moseley neighbourhood. The aim of this new document is to provide guidance so the following outcomes are achieved:

  • Moseley is a better place to live, work.
  • Local resident’s vision for Moseley is realised.
  • The neighborhood character is preserved and enhanced.
  • Developers, investors, businesses and others understand local priorities.
  • Moseley helps tackle climate change.

This draft plan has been prepared by the Moseley Community Development Trust (CDT) in collaboration with the Birmingham City Council. It is the first community led SPD in Birmingham and will provide a leading example of how communities can play a more active role in shaping their area.

The draft Moseley Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) are ready now for public consultation.  We would like to hear your views on the vision for the future and the policy proposals.
