The Full Business Case for the proposed scheme was approved by the Chief Officer and the works are expected to be complete on site by end August 2015.

Overview

Following evaluation of the feedback from the initial consultation we have revised the proposals to include extra provision for cyclists as shown on the attached drawing CA-02102_S11_001 Rev B. A summary of the proposals is listed below:

  • One way system on Griffins Brook Lane (immediately outside the school).
  • Advisory contraflow cycle lane on part of Griffins Brook Lane.
  • Footway widening on the school side of Griffins Brook Lane.
  • Unsegregated shared use footway / cycle lane to link the advisory contraflow cycle lane with the existing cycle lane on Bristol Road South.
  • Uncontrolled pedestrian crossings on Griffins Brook Lane near junction of Bristol Road South.
  • 20mph speed Limit, on the full length of Griffins Brook Lane.
  • Double yellow lines along (no waiting at any time) Griffins Brook Lane.
  • Single yellow lines (no waiting between Mon – Fri 8:15 – 9:15am & 3:00 – 4:00pm) on Griffins Brook Lane (From No’s 92 – 102).
