Overview

We are proposing to expand The Dame Ellen Pinsent School as part of the Special School Additional Places programme with effect from 1st September 2015.

Remodelling work of the school’s existing accommodation is required. Additional land has been identified at the school site for building extensions to accommodate additional classrooms and ancillary space for the extra children.

We are proposing to expand The Dame Ellen Pinsent School in order for them to admit up to 156 pupils with effect from 1st September 2015.

The School is a Community Special School in Billesley ward within Birmingham. It admits pupils aged 4 – 11 years with statements of special educational needs of Cognition and Learning, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language and Communication and Severe Learning Difficulties. The school can currently offer 124 places.

Full details of the changes are explained in the document below along with a copy of the public notice. We are consulting on the expansion of Cherry Oak School at the same time.
