Overview

We are proposing to make several changes to The Bridge School as part of the Special School Additional Places programme. The Bridge School currently operates across two sites: the Erdington site in Stockland Green ward and the Longmoor Campus in Sutton Vesey ward.

If the proposal is approved, all pupils from the Erdington site will transfer to the Longmoor Campus site. Remodelling work is proposed in order to accommodate the additional class spaces required to implement the proposal.

We are proposing the following changes:

  1. Closure of The Bridge School Erdington site at 290 Reservoir Road, Erdington, Birmingham B23 6DE from 31st December 2014.
  2. Relocation of all current pupils from The Bridge School site in Erdington to the Longmoor Campus at Coppice View Road, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham B73 6UE as of 1st January 2015.

The Bridge School is a Community Special School within Birmingham. It currently admits 72 pupils aged 2 – 11 years with statements of special educational needs. The school provides education for pupils with complex and multiple needs, including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and those diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder.

Full details of the changes are explained in the document below along with a copy of the public notice.
