We asked

The purpose of this consultation was to consult on the Birmingham Cycle Revolution initiative to encourage more people to cycle in and around the city. Our vision is to make cycling an everyday way to travel in Birmingham. We want 5% of all trips in the city to be made by bike by 2023 and to double this again to 10% by 2033. This will help to make our city healthier, greener, safer and less congested.

Overview

Birmingham Cycle Revolution is an exciting initiative to encourage more people to cycle in and around the city. Our vision is to make cycling an everyday way to travel in Birmingham. We want 5% of all trips in the city to be made by bike by 2023 and to double this again to 10% by 2033. This will help to make our city healthier, greener, safer and less congested.

Listed below are the roads included in the Local Link schemes which represent on-highway works to facilitate cycle movement to and from the off-road Green Routes (particularly where these cross public roads) and to link them to the main on-street cycling network.

  • Cliveland Street
  • Cole Valley alternative route
  • Fleet Street
  • Nechells ward schemes (Cuckoo Road, Fazeley Street, Heartlands Parkway, Mill Street and Richard Street).
