Climate Emergency Citizen Survey

Overview

In 2018 the United Nations warned that, unless urgent action is taken, we might miss the chance to avoid the devastating effects climate change could have on millions of people across the world.

On 11 June 2019 the council declared a climate emergency and made the commitment to take action to reduce the city’s carbon emissions and limit climate change.

The Council is currently working with partners and stakeholders across the city and region to come up with recommendations for how everyone in the city can work together, take action, and make positive changes to the way we live, work and move around.

Why your views matter

We are engaging with people in Birmingham to find out more about their awareness and understanding of climate change and the climate emergency as well as to understand what barriers people face and what can be done differently to ensure everyone can make positive changes to help tackle climate change.

We are also inviting people to tell us their views and ideas for what can be done in the city to help tackle climate change to enable people to shape what they think a sustainable future in Birmingham should look like.
