Overview
At the request of both the Infant and Junior school Governing Bodies Birmingham City Council is consulting on a proposal to amalgamate Colmers Farm Infant and Colmers Farm Junior School.
In order to do this it is necessary to
- Discontinue Colmers Farm Junior School
- Alter the upper age-range of Colmers Farm Infant School.
This will result in the amalgamation of both schools to form an all through primary school. All pupils and staff from the junior school would have the right to transfer to the primary school unless they wanted to seek other arrangements.
Colmers Farm Infant School will be proposing to change its name to reflect the change to the age range and amalgamation.
Why your views matter
Full details of the changes are explained in the proposal document below.
We are keen to receive your comments on the proposal and you can comment online here until 23rd October 2015
What happens next
The consultation will begin Week commencing 14th September 2015
The consultation period will run until 23rd October 2015
If after considering all views received, the schools and the Local Authority still think it is a good idea, we will publish full proposal on 12th November 2015 and allow four weeks for people to comment on them (until 10th December 2015.)
Within two months of the end of this “representation” period all comments will be forwarded along with a Cabinet report to Birmingham City Council Cabinet Committee for a decision to be made in January 2016.
If the proposal is approved the changes will come into effect from 1st February 2016
