Overview

NOTICE is given in accordance with Section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that The Governing Body of Dame Elizabeth Cadbury Technology College proposes to make prescribed alterations to Dame Elizabeth Cadbury Technology College (a Foundation school), Woodbrooke Road, Bournville, B30 1UL. Namely this would consist of not admitting any further pupils other than those already on roll within the resource base from 1st September 2015.

This consultation starts on 21st May 2015 and will run for 4 weeks until 18th June 2015 in line with guidance from the Department for Education on ‘School Organisation – Maintained Schools’ (January 2014).

Dame Elizabeth Cadbury School is a 125 per year entry foundation school in Bournville. The school currently has a virtual Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) resource base for up to 20 pupils with a statement of Special Education Needs or Education Health Plan. Currently the school has only 3 children allocated to the Base with only 1 in the Year 7 intake.

The proposed changes are to gradually close the resource base, with no further pupils being admitted. The provision will continue to be offered to all pupils currently within the base but no further pupils will be admitted in 2015 or by in-year admission.
