Overview
Dear resident,
Birmingham City Council wants to receive the views of local residents regarding a proposal for housing development on the Dugdale Crescent site.
There is a growing older population in the city, and many older people are living in family homes which are too big for them. This piece of land could help provide homes for elderly people and those people that might want to downsize from larger homes. We believe that this will complement the local community and local area.
We have included an indicative layout for your information.
Why your views matter
We want to build a new high quality housing development on the site made up of bungalows for the benefit of elderly people that is in very short supply and is very popular. The scheme will retain some of the public open space.
Another benefit of this approach is that the development will provide opportunities for training, work placements, and apprenticeships as we have done on all of our schemes.
What happens next
This is the first stage of the consultation process. Any development proposal would be subject to planning approval which would include a period of formal public consultation. This is not expected to happen for at least a couple of years.
