Fees and Charges Consultation 2021/22 - Transport Model Access

Closed 8 Feb 2021

Opened 27 Jan 2021

Overview

We are completing a review of the fees and charges for access to transport models owned by Birmingham City Council. The review forms part of the annual review of all fees and charges set by the Council’s trading services, and it is anticipated that any changes shall be implemented from 1 April 2021.

The purpose of this consultation is to receive your feedback on the proposed fees and charges proposals, your perceptions on value for money, your satisfaction with the service received, as well as providing an opportunity for any other feedback in relation to the services you receive. All feedback will help us to continually improve the services we provided to you.

The 2021/22 fees and charges proposals are below.

The Council invests significant funds into the development and maintenance of transport models for the city; currently, we do not make a charge for external users to access these models and the data that they contain. It is proposed, from 1 April 2021, to make a charge for their use. The fee to access these models and the data within them will enable us to maintain their availability for use in testing transport proposals and the impact of developments and potential mitigations. The proposed access fee is: £10,000 for private sector developers, and £5,000 for public and third sector organisations. We will continue to charge for council officer time related to use of the models at cost in addition to the access fee.
