Overview

Birmingham City Council has prepared two draft Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs):

Houses in Multiple Occupation Draft Supplementary Planning Document 

Large-scale Shared Accommodation Draft Supplementary Planning Document.

The SPDs provide detailed guidance to support the application of existing policies in the Birmingham Development Plan (adopted January 2017) and Development Management in Birmingham Development Plan Document (adopted December 2021).

Why your views matter

We would like to hear your views on the contents of the SPDs. The SPDs can be viewed be clicking on the attachments below.

All the comments received by the closing date will be considered and used to inform the final SPDs. The consultation results will be reported in a Consultation Statement to the Council’s Cabinet. The Council will then make a decision about adopting the SPD. Once adopted it would provide planning guidance and would have to be taken into account when the Council considers any relevant planning applications.
