Consultation on Draft Revised Local Validation List

Closed 3 Mar 2020

Opened 29 Jan 2020

Overview

Birmingham City Council is consulting on a draft revised Local Validation List. The consultation period is from 29 January – 28 February 2020. We would be pleased to receive any comments that you may have on the proposed changes to the list.

What is the local validation list?

The local validation list sets out the information that Birmingham City Council will require to be able to register, assess and determine planning applications. The amount of information required will vary depending on the type, scale and location of the proposed development including any site specific constraints. Not all the local information requirements will apply to every planning application. The City Council will only ask for what is required to determine the planning application.

Why your views matter

National planning guidance requires that local information requirement lists are reviewed every two years to ensure that it is reasonable and up-to-date. The information requirements have been amended and updated to reflect changes in national legislation and guidance and to reflect new guidance published by the City Council. The current local information requirements list was last updated in 2018 and can be viewed here: https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/downloads/file/7362/local_validation_criteria_2018
