We asked

You said

We received support for the proposed 20mph speed limit Traffic Regulation Order but also objections.

We did

All objections received have now been reviewed by the Cabinet Member for Development, Transport and the Economy and the Council have taken the decision to proceed with the 20mph proposals notwithstanding the objections received.

Overview

The purpose of this consultation is to make residents and businesses more aware of proposals to introduce Traffic Regulation Orders in their locality. It is in addition to the notification which is legally required and laid down by statutory procedures. With this in mind a copy of a Public Notice indicating the Council’s proposals is reproduced on the attached letter and I would draw your attention to its contents.

Proposals are to make an Order under Sections 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which will be to introduce and consolidate a 20 miles per hour speed limit, in the Saltley area.

Full details of the Order, together with the plans and a statement of the Council’s reasons for the proposals are available at the links below or may be examined by appointment during normal working hours at the Hodge Hill District Office, Ward End Park House, Ward End Park, Washwood Heath Road, Birmingham, B8 2HB or Highways, 1 Lancaster Circus Queensway, Birmingham B4 7DQ. (Contact Rajpreet Mander Tel: 0121 675 4401: email: transport.projects@birmingham.gov.uk).

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should write to the Director of Highways and Resilience stating the grounds for objection by the 17th August 2015.
