Overview

Birmingham City Council are proposing a number of changes to  the Bridge School in line with the Special Schools Additional Places Programme

The Bridge School is a community special school for 79 pupils from the ages of 2 – 11 years.  The school educates children with complex and multiple needs, including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and those diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder.  The school currently occupies two sites however separate proposals were approved by Cabinet Committee on 28th July 2014 to relocate the Bridge School to one site on the Longmoor Campus from 1st January 2015 and close the site at 290 Reservoir Road Erdington (the school will become a single site school). The school has a boarding provision on the Longmoor campus. There are no boarding pupils in the boarding provision. It is proposed for the school to:

  • Remove the boarding provision at The Bridge School – Longmoor Campus, Coppice View Road, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham B73 6UE from 31st December 2014.

Why your views matter

What happens next

A public notice will be published on 25th September 2014.

Following the publication of the notice there will be a four week representation period, during this time anyone who wishes to make representation about this proposal should do so via this survey or via the alternatives on the notice.

A decision will be made by Cabinet Committee within two months of the end of the representation period.

The outcome will be advised on the website.
