Overview

Birmingham City Council is consulting on a proposal to expand Yenton Primary School by enlargement of the premises to increase the pupil numbers from 420 to 630.

Remodelling work is proposed and additional land has been identified for the building of the extension to the school.

Yenton Primary School is a community primary school located on Chester Road, Erdington within the Erdington ward of the Erdington district.

The school caters for pupils aged 4 to 11.

The school currently operates at 60 places (2 classes) per year group.

The school can currently accommodate 450 pupils as they were able to offer an additional 30 places in Reception in September 2015 within new modular accommodation.

The proposal is to:

  • Expand Yenton Primary School by 30 places (one additional form of entry) per year group, taking the school from 60 places to 90 places per year.

These proposed changes will come into effect from 1st September 2016
