Overview

We want to know your thoughts on how the palliative and end of life services can be improved.

By palliative care we mean services that support patients and their families with an illness that cant be cured, to improve their quality of life.

By end of life we mean services that support people and their families who are in the final 12 months of their lives.

Why your views matter

There is a need for palliative and end of life care services as people are living longer and need support with their medical problems -some of which are incurable.

At the moment, palliative and end of life care services in Birmimingham vary depending on where you live. This means that services are inconsistent and dont meet the needs of the increasing number of people who need this type of care.

We would like to improve these services so that they are co-ordinated, consistent, of high quality and availaible to everyone who needs them. Your two local clinical commissioning groups, (CCG's), Birmingham CrossCity and Birmingham South Central, are working together to come up with solutions.
