Overview
This survey consists of 20 short questions covering general school and governing body information, skills and experience, capacity and training. It should be completed on behalf of the Governing Body by the Link Governor and Clerk to Governors in consultation with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher.
A strategic goal of Birmingham City Council is to ensure that sound and proper governance arrangements are in place and working effectively in our schools. A key consideration in the appointment and election of all new governors should be the skills and experience the governing body needs to be effective. This survey has been developed to help you assess the overall skills, knowledge and experience of your whole Governing Body, and identify any specific gaps that need to be filled in the skills, knowledge and experience of existing governors. It will also provide the Authority with an overview of governor skills and knowledge in Birmingham to inform its governor recruitment strategy and provide bespoke recruitment support to governing bodies where this might be needed.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
