Post 16 Parental Engagement Survey

Closed 19 Jun 2019

Opened 1 May 2019

Overview

The Post 16 Forum is a city-wide strategic group consisting of senior leaders from schools, colleges, training providers and Birmingham City Council. The group works together to provide strategic guidance to improve education and training opportunities for young people aged 14-19 in Birmingham and ensure they move on to university or employment. National research shows that parents play a major role in the success of students in education and employment. We want to improve how parents and education providers work together to improve the prospects of all young people.

Why your views matter

This survey aims to collect the views and experiences of parents of 14-19 year olds and your interactions with post 16 providers (colleges, sixth-forms and training providers) your children attend. The results of the survey will inform the Post 16 Forum in developing guidance to improve the education experience that young people get.

This consultation starts on 1 May 2019 and will run for 6 weeks until 12 June 2019.

What happens next

The results of the survey will be presented to education providers within Birmingham to improve how they work collaboratively with parents to improve student learning and experience at college, school sixth-form or training provider.
