Overview

Birmingham City Council is proposing a new walking and cycling path in your area. It will run from the entrance to Witton Lakes on Bleak Hill Road, through Scafell Drive, across the Streetly Road and along the length of Bleak Hill Park, with exits to Short Heath Road and Marsh Lane.

The path will be surfaced in bitmac (tarmac), apart from the Scafell Drive section which will use the existing slabbed path.  The crossing of Streetly Road will be realigned and improved.  The existing barriers to Scafell Drive and Bleak Hill Park will be modified to make them easier to get around, especially for disabled buggy users.

Why your views matter

We would like to hear your views on the proposals. You can do this completing this questionnaire or joining us at consultation event at Stockland Green Community Leisure Centre, Marsh Hill on Wednesday, 3rd July from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, where you will be able to see large scale plans and ask questions.

These proposals form part of the Bike North Birmingham project that is aiming to increase the number of people using bikes in Erdington and Sutton Coldfield. The project is jointly funded by Birmingham City Council and The Government’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund. As well as building routes like this, the project is working with schools, workplaces and at leisure centres to get more people cycling.  There are many ways you can get involved!  Check the website at www.bikenorthbirmingham.org.uk
