We conducted an online consultation on Be Heard to understand the opinions of the local residents’ to better understand the priorities of the landscape improvements proposed at Cotteridge Park. We received 138 responses and out of those, 68% of people agree with the proposals. What follows is a summary of the responses.

Overview

Cotteridge Park currently benefits from a regularly used sports court that accommodates a number of sports, namely Basketball and Tennis with Bike Polo being played here also.

The Landscape Practice Group has been working with the Friends of Cotteridge Park, Birmingham Bike Polo and the District Parks Manager to work up a number of potential improvements for this sporting facility.

It has become apparent that this court requires an update in both materials and sporting opportunities to bring the court up to date and accommodate a number of sports that visitors would like to play, therefore a design has been drawn up to showcase the potential improvements which you can view below.

Why your views matter

Whilst discussing the potential improvements with the Friends of Cotteridge Park, Birmingham Bike Polo and the District Parks Manager has resulted in a number of potential improvements, we would now like to open it to the public to let everyone to have their opinions heard regarding what improvements they would like to see for the sports court.

Your views and opinions are invaluable and shall be used to inform the final design to ensure that we are able to provide a sports court with the sporting opportunities that are most desired.

 

What happens next

Once the Be Heard Public Consultation has concluded we shall gather all your views and opinions and will ascertain the most popular sports you would like to see provided for as well as your views on layout and materiality.

We shall take this data and use it to inform the final design of the sports court and provide what will be a very popular facility within the park for people of all ages and abilites to enjoy over many years to come.
