The consultation process is now closed. Of the 81 returned responses approximately half, 41 were against the proposals.
The community questionairres were discussed by councillors at the ward commitee meetings.
There have been three petitions presented both for and against the redevelopment of the space by some of the local residents. The proposals will be subject to a planning application and the outcome of this will inform the Hall Green Councillors on the way forward.
Overview
There is a shortfall in provision of play facilities in the Hall Green area.
Newy Goodman Park has been identified as a suitable green open space.
Some funding is available from external sources to improve the existing open space at this site.
The existing open space has no play facilities but is surrounded by mainly residential properties.
Consultation to enable local people to comment on outline proposals is being carried out. There will be a letter explaining the proposals delivered to the houses in the vicinity.
A plan is to be put up in the local Library for further detail.
