We have received 52 responses to this consultation which 35 of them were supportive of the proposed scheme. 2 of the responders had no opinion and 15 of them were objecting the proposal. Number of the objections were due to impact on natural environment and unauthorised access to the site. These concerns were addressed by confirming that no existing vegetation would be removed on site and installation of new chicane barriers to stop unauthroised access to the site.
Overview
Birmingham City Council is proposing a new improvement works at Newdigate Public Open Space.
This proposal includes construction of a new circular path, marking out 2 junior football pitches, planting of new trees, creation of wildflower areas and removal of section of the existing panel to create a new access point via Stone Avenue. New pedestrian access from Stone Avenue will include a chicane barrier to minimise the unauthorised access into the site.
