Overview

The City Council wishes to receive feedback on the changes to the on-street parking arrangements in Birmingham city centre, which were implemented in October 2011.

The operational hours in the City Centre Controlled Parking Zone were extended to cover the period 8:00am to 7:30pm every day. The parking charges in the Inner Zone were also extended to operate during the same hours although a concessionary rate of £3.00 was introduced for parking after 6:00pm, Monday to Friday and a concessionary rate of £2.00 for 2 hours was introduced on Sundays.

The change also meant that the single yellow line waiting restrictions in the city centreCPZ became operational until 7:30pm every day to avoid migration from the parking bays to the single yellow lines.

This arrangement has now been in operation for over a year and we would like to receive your views about the change. We are particularly interested to hear examples of how the change has made convenient on-street parking more accessible for visitors arriving in the city centre in the evening and on Sundays together with examples of any difficulties the change has created.
