International Physical Activity Questionnaire

Overview

We are interested in the physical activity and sedentary behaviour of Birmingham residents as well as active travel and safe mobility. This is particularly important because of the government imposed lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic requiring many to stay at home.

The questionnaire will ask you a series of questions about your physical activity and sedentary behaviour during the last 7 days. If you have any questions before or whilst completing the questionnaire, please contact Professor David Broom at David.Broom@coventry.ac.uk and return to complete the questionnaire once your queries have been addressed.

Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time. This is an open questionnaire but please only complete it if you are an adult aged 18 years or over and you do not have any circumstances that have prevented you from undertaking your usual physical activity in the last 7 days e.g. due to an illness or injury. You are free to skip any of the Physical Activity questions by leaving them blank and moving on to the next question.

When you have completed the consent form, you will move to the questionnaire which will ask you questions specifically related to active travel, physical activity and sedentary behaviour. Please provide your responses in the boxes provided. The questionnaire should take about 10 minutes but no more than 20 minutes to complete. Please allow sufficient time to give your honest responses since there are no time constraints once you begin.
