We received 21 responses during the consultation process and 20 of these responses supported the proposed improvement works.

Some responses requested additional improvement work in Summerfield Park. These requests have been passed onto the relevant parties

Overview

Refurbishment of tennis courts at Summerfield Park has been identified as a priority as the existing fencing and surfacing have fallen into disrepair, the formerbeing taken down in parts and the latter damaged by root encroachment from surrounding trees. It is therefore proposed to provide a new permeable playing surface with root barrier, new ball-stop fencing, posts and nets to bring the courts back into use. Also relocating the current access path away from existing trees with new root barrier will improve the access to this new facility.
