Priorities For a Fairer Birmingham - Help Us Develop Our Equality Objectives

Overview

Introduction

We are consulting on our equality objectives to ensure they reflect the equality issues that matter most to residents.

As part of our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 Public Sector Equality Duty ( a law that helps councils and other public services treat everyone fairly, reduce unfair discrimination, and give all people equal chances to take part in community life), we want to make sure the equality objectives reflect the priorities and experiences of people across Birmingham.

We want to hear from residents, community organisations, faith groups and stakeholders about whether our current objectives are the right priorities, what actions the council should take, and how success should be measured.

We will ask you to tell us if you think:

  • the existing equality objectives are still relevant,
  • they should change,
  • there is anything else you want to see reflected in the objectives, and,
  • if there are others you would like to see included.

Take a look at our current Public Sector Equality Duty Report (2025-2026) to see how your feedback could help the council's future plans and actions.

This survey should take about 10-20 minutes to complete.
