Safer School Journeys - Hall Green Primary School

Overview

The Safer School Journeys programme is a city-wide initiative designed to make streets around schools safer, healthier and more welcoming for pupils, families and the wider community.

Funded through the Clean Air Zone and aligned with the city’s Road Harm Reduction Strategy, this programme offers dedicated support to help schools identify and address road safety concerns, improve air quality, and encourage more walking, wheeling, and cycling. It also supports the vision for Kids Streets across the West Midlands.

Hall Green Primary School has been selected for improvements as part of this programme.

We are proposing to introduce:

  • A raised crossing point to improve safety for people walking and wheeling
  • Coloured road surfacing and road markings to make drivers aware they are entering an area with a school
