Overview

We are planning an improvement to the roads at the junction of Aston Hall Road/ Priory Road. This will support the redevelopment of a key industrial plot at the Aston Advanced Manufacturing Hub (AMH).

The plans are to build a four-arm roundabout at the junction of Aston Hall Road/ Priory Road, and to make Priory Road two way (currently one way).

A plan is below. The roundabout will specifically serve plot 2 at the AMH (highlighted on the plan below), alongside new and existing industrial development. We currently expect construction work will start in winter 2017 and finish in mid-2018, but this may change. The developer who will be responsible for construction will contact local properties before the work starts, to confirm timescales and provide information about diversions/ temporary traffic lights.

The AMH, which is being brought forward by the City Council in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), is one of six economic zones in Birmingham. It captures the importance of the advanced manufacturing sector to the wider West Midlands, and is an ideal location for industrial development given its location within proximity to the M6. The scheme will improve accessibility across the AMH, thereby benefiting local businesses.
