Jewellery Quarter Development Trust (JQDT) Neighbourhood Development Forum and Area application

Closed 28 Jun 2019

Opened 17 May 2019

Overview

An application has been made to the City Council to designate a  Neighbourhood Forum which will bring together residents, businesses and local Councillors to make plans for the Jewellery Quarter in the City Centre. The application sets out the reasons for setting up the new organisation, its area of responsibility and its constitution.

The proposed Jewellery Quarter Neighbourhood Planning Forum is being set up in order to carry out the community’s aspiration to prepare a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for the area. This application is the first stage in the process and seeks the Council’s approval of the new organisation and the proposed neighbourhood area it will cover.

Why your views matter

In deciding whether to designate the proposed Neighbourhood Forum and Area, the City Council will take into account the views local people and businesses. The application will be publicised for a period of six weeks and during this time representations will be sought from the public and any interested bodies.

The Application documents can be viewed below, and you can make comments using the "Online Survey" function on this page, or by email at the address given below

What happens next

The Council will decide whether to designate the neighbourhood planning forum and neighbourhood area based on the neighbourhood planning regulations and any comments received. The decision will be published on our website at http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/jqndp
