School Organisation: Kitwell Primary School

Closed 22 Oct 2020

Opened 24 Sep 2020

Overview

Kitwell Primary School and Nursery Class is a community school and nursery class for pupils aged 3 - 11 years. The school is located on Wychbury Road, Bartley Green, Birmingham B32 4DL (Bartley Green Ward; Edgbaston Constituency.)

This proposal by Birmingham City Council, in collaboration with the school, is to consult formally on the removal of the nursery provision from Kitwell Primary School by:

  • Altering the lower age limit from 3 years to age 4 years;
  • The age range would become 4 - 11 years;
  • The nursery provision would be removed with effect 31st December 2020.

This change is being proposed due to:

  • High amount of nursery provsion in the local area;
  • Low number of nursery pupils at the school in recent years;
  • Low pupil numbers affect the amount of funding;
  • Low funding is putting strain on the school budget.

Further details of the proposal are in the Full Proposal Document attached at the bottom of this consultation webpage.
