Having considered the comments the IEB unanimously agreed to implement the proposal with effect from 1st September 2020.

Overview

Proposal to Make Changes to Skilts School

Skilts School is a Birmingham community special school located outside the City boundary in Redditch, Worcestershire. 

The School can currently offer up to 90 places for pupils aged 5 - 11 years who have a Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) for Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). 

The Interim executive Board (IEB) of Skilts Special School is consulting on a proposal to make a temporary change to the school, namely,

  • Alter the age range of Skilts Special School from 5 - 11 to 5 -12 years.
  • This will allow the current Year 6 to remain at the school for an additional year in Year 7.

 

Why your views matter

The IEB would like to give all current and future parents and all other interested parties the opportunity to comment on the proposal to alter the age range of Skilts School from 5 -11 years to 5 - 12 years with effect from 1st September 2020.

This is a temporary change for one year.

This will allow current year 6 pupils to remain at Skilts Special School for a further year in year 7.

The consultation will run for 5 weeks from Monday 4th May 2020 to Friday 5th June 2020.

The IEB are keen to receive your comments on the proposal and you can comment online here until to 5th June 2020.

What happens next

This consultation will start Monday 4th May 2020

The consultation (representation) period will end Friday 5th June 2020.

During this time anyone who wishes to make comments/objections about this proposal should do so via this survey. 

All comments/objections received will be presented to the decision makers, the Interim Executive Board for a decision at the end of the consultation period. The IEB will meet to analyse the results and consider the proposal and make a decision.
