You said

(1)  Too expensive

(2)  The cost of burials are the highest in the region and should be reduced significantly

(3)  The fees for burials need to be reduced

 

We did

(1)  Most of the fees for 2021 have either been frozen since 2019 or reduced.

(2)  A comparison of fees for a traditional type grave and burial indicates that Birmingham City Council fees are now less than most of the neighbouring authorities.

(3)  Burial fees have either been frozen since 2019 or reduced. The fees compare favourably with neighbouring authorities.

Overview

We are seeking your views on the proposed changes to the 2021-22 fees and charges for Bereavement Services.  It is anticipated that  any changes will be implemented on 1st April 2021.

The 2021/22 fees and charges proposals are attached below.

Why your views matter

The purpose of this consultation is to obtain feedback on the proposed changes to the fees and charges.  It will also provide us with an insight into our customers' satisfaction level with the services provided, and whether it is considered good value for money.  All feedback will assist us with implementing improvements to our service.
