Chamberlain Gardens Landscape Improvement Works
Overview
Following on from landscape improvement works carried out on the gardens during 2018-19, the next phase of environmental works is ready for consideration. These works are in line with the agreed landscape plan prepared in 2018 which was approved after the new houses were built off Cawdor crescent.
The latest phase of landscape work was presented to the ward forum in October 2019 and after instructions from councillors outline suggestions have been worked up into this detailed contract package.
The proposed Works include,
- Works to the remaining open boundaries to enhance the security of the open space.
- Highlighting of the various entrances into and out of the gardens to help health and safety and increase the identity of the location.
- Enhancing and improving the play facilities to encourage a wider age range of users.
- Additional planting of flowering and fruiting tree species to increase the habitat creation of the gardens and encourage more wildlife.
- Adding new furniture and facilities to the gardens for the enjoyment of more users.
- Installation of historical and environmental information panels to the renovated pagoda walls.
Why your views matter
Before we go on site we would very much welcome from the local community comments on the above proposals.
It is hoped that if the response is favourable we could proceed with the construction of the works on site during July-Oct 2020.
