Overview
Improvements to City Centre CCTV network
Consultation is taking place regarding proposed locations for 24 new CCTV cameras and 30 CCTV camera upgrades in various parts of the City Centre to further improve the network’s coverage and to help people feel safer.
The expansion follows Cabinet’s approval for the proposals on 14 December to help plug gaps in coverage and improve the quality and reliability of the CCTV network, as well as help residents, visitors and workers in the City Centre feel safer.
City Centre Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) are being advised and consulted on the proposed camera locations and upgrades within or near Colmore, Jewellery Quarter, Retail, Southside and Westside BID areas.
Local Street Wardens are circulating a questionnaire to businesses and residents within 100m of each proposed camera location.
You can also share your views by completing the appropriate questionnaire and returning it by Monday 7th March 2020, (email details for return are within the questionnaire documents).
Why your views matter
