Overview
On behalf of the Birmingham Commission for Children, The Children’s Society would like to invite you to participate in our Call for Views.
The Birmingham Commission for Children is an independent group of experts brought together to explore children’s lives and well-being in the city and hear their voices. The group of commissioners will hear from a range of children, young people and adults, and will present their final report to Birmingham City Council in September. Their work will, in part, support the strategic reviews of early year’s services and the council’s relationship with local schools.
The Commissioners would love to hear from you!
You can respond as an organisation, a group of young people, a professional, or as an interested party. All views are welcome.
The Commissioners especially want to hear the voices of Birmingham’s children and young people!
As such, there is a response document designed especially for them with supporting information for project workers and staff.

What happens next
When the seven public meetings of the Birmingham Commission for Children are complete, the commissioners will go and start thinking about what could be done over the next ten years to imrpove children's lives in Birmingham.
They will have lots of information to conisder - children's views from across the city, stories about real Birmingham families, evidence from other cities and countries and, most importantly, all of your views!
The final recommendations will be published in the Autumn.
