Overview
This Directorate for People consultation supports the Corporate Budget Consultation for 2015/16.
This document explains specific proposals for public health, social care, Supporting People, Homelessness and Education services that are provided by the Directorate for People. It also explains how we will be consulting you about these proposals.
In December 2014, the Council published its White Paper. This forms the basis of the corporate budget consultation. To find out more and participate in this, please see - http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/budgetviews
Consultation will take place in the following stages:
- Corporate consultation and Equality Impact Assessment to assist with budget and resource allocation. This formal budget consultation for 2015-16 closes on 12th January 2015.
- The Directorate for People consultation and Equality Impact Assessment on the consequences of the implementation of the various proposals. This Directorate budget consultation for 2015-16 closes on 20th February 2015.
Why your views matter
The Council continues to struggle with massive cuts in government funding. As around 67% of our money comes from central government, we have had to look at what, and how, we will provide services in the future. This has been done in far-reaching Service Reviews, the work of which was summarised in a Green Paper. More information about the Service Reviews can be found below.
