Overview

Birmingham City Council are working with Calthorpe Estates on public realm

enhancements on Greenfield Crescent, Edgbaston.

Why your views matter

The proposals aim to improve user experience and evolve Greenfield Crescent into a vibrant urban location, by resurfacing using high quality materials to complement the heritage and architecture of the existing built environment.

By enhancing the existing street scene and making a place that is both pedestrian and cycle friendly, the project will seek to deliver the aspirations of visitors to this recently redeveloped area, within Edgbaston Village.

As part of these improvements we are proposing to make parts of Greenfield Crescent a pedestrian only area during commercially active times of the day.

The streetscape will feature a raised section extending through the centre of Greenfield Crescent which will be non-accessible to motor vehicles, whilst emergency services and at certain times deliveries and taxis, will be permitted. On street parking will continue to be retained at each end of Greenfield Crescent.

What happens next

The consultation will close on 6th October, following this we will review comments which will help us to develop the proposal further.
