Overview
Birmingham City Council has secured funding from Central Government to modify the junction at Minworth Island in order to better manage traffic, particularly at peak times. Proposals for this Highway improvement are shown on drawing no CA-02710_S1_001 attached below.
The main elements of the scheme are:
- Localised widening on approaches and provision of an additional lane on the main circulatory carriageway
- Introduction of traffic signals on the island and certain approach roads
- Implement signal controlled crossings for pedestrians and a new footpath that would guide them across Minworth Island
-
Improve the existing advisory cycle route around Minworth Island with new signing, cycle lanes and possible speed limit reductions
The Council would like to hear your views on these proposals. If you wish to comment please e-mail transport.projects@birmingham.gov.uk or complete the online survey by no later than 20th March 2015.
An officer will also provide a brief presentation on the proposals at the Sutton New Hall Ward Committee meeting on Friday 6th March 2015 at 7pm at the Walmley Community Hall, Walmley Road, Walmley, B76 1NP.
Following consultation feedback, the scheme details could change. Any changes made to the proposals will be posted on this website.
