For views on a proposal to convert the existing pedestrian crossing to a Toucan crossing and realign the Cole Valley Cycle Route exit onto Coventry Road in line with the path actually worn by existing users.

There is concern that surfacing works would cause damage to tree roots close to the path.

Cycle route to be built using the existing path. Toucan crossing to be installed as proposed.
Overview
Consulting on a proposal to replace an existing Pedestrian crossing with a Toucan to formalise its use by cyclists, linking to the Cole Valley Cycle Route.
This proposal forms part of the Birmingham Cycle Revolution Local Links programme, ensuring canal towpaths and green routes are linked to the other parts of the cycling network.
