Overview

Transport for West Midlands, part of the West Midlands Combined Authority and Birmingham City Council are working together to improve the bus network across Birmingham, helping to make bus travel more attractive by reducing journey times, improving reliability and making bus travel safer. More people travelling by bus means less congestion and better air quality for everybody.

The A435 Alcester Road is one of the most congested corridors into and out of the city. We want to speed up bus journeys by introducing new bus lanes and making improvements to existing bus lanes on Moseley Road and Alcester Road, particularly through Balsall Heath.

Following a consultation on the scheme proposals in late 2019, some of the measures have been revised.

This consultation is about the Traffic Regulation Orders (the legal documents required to make changes to the status of the road) associated with the Moseley Road and Alcester Road bus priority scheme.

About this consultation

During this consultation, you can make comments on the proposals or submit a formal objection (which must include the grounds for the objection). You can either make your response via this webpage (please provide your contact details as part of your response), by email to transport.projects@birmingham.gov.uk or you can post a written objection to: Assistant Director - Transport & Connectivity, Place, Prosperity & Sustainability Directorate, 1 Lancaster Circus Queensway, PO Box 14439, Birmingham B2 2JE.

All responses must be received by 6 July 2022.
